Several years ago we had to make the most important decision of our lives. After several miscarriages and our strong desire to have children we decided to use a surrogate.
The thought of this process especially in this State was intimidating. We were fortunate to have located Amy Kern who with her expertise and understanding made the whole process for us accessible. She is not only a professional in her field but a kind person who is passionate in what she does. She walked us through the whole way and we are truly thankful for that.
We now have a beautiful healthy boy who will soon be three and we can’t imagine life without him. Our dream came true thanks to God, our wonderful surrogate and Amy Kern.

Surrogacy is what I was called to do, it was just natural. To see the parents face light up at the sight of that first heartbeat or the smile they have when they first hold their child, and it never seems to fade, that is what surrogacy is all about.
My husband and I conceived easily and I had easy pregnancies and deliveries, unfortunately, we had family and friends that struggled with fertility issues. I am a wife and mother to 3 wonderful children and I knew all the happiness that my own children brought into my life and my husbands, so we agreed that we could give back and help others through surrogacy.
I am a 2 time GS and was lucky enough that I matched with awesome couples both times that trusted me with their embryos. I feel honored that they trusted me and my family to “babysit” something so precious to them, their children. Both journeys I matched with couples from Louisiana. I wanted them to be local, so that they could be involved in the pregnancy and delivery. Accompanying me to appointments and being there for delivery was important. This was their pregnancy, not mine, so I didn’t want them to miss anything.
I researched surrogacy for years before I actually matched, and in the process of researching, I realized that Louisiana didn’t have many attorneys’ that were familiar with the laws and was lucky enough that my IP’s found Amy. I worked with Amy on both surrogacy journeys and she made the whole process very easy for everyone. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does.
